With their crackly top and melt-in-your-mouth texture, they’re perfect for satisfying chocolate cravings or impressing guests with minimal effort. This one-bowl recipe is sure to become a go-to treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cocoa powder (preferably Dutch-processed)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan and Oven
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar. Allow the mixture to cool slightly to prevent scrambling the eggs.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then beat well until fully combined and slightly frothy. This step is key to creating a signature crackly crust.
  3. Incorporate Dry Ingredients
Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until just combined, ensuring no streaks of flour remain.
  4. Bake the Brownies
Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake for 28–32 minutes, or until the center is set. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with moist crumbs but no wet batter.
  5. Cool and Serve
Let the brownies cool slightly in the pan before cutting them into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.
